I have a client that wants a star cake base cake with a star standing up on top of it, I am thinking of making it with rice krispies but how do I make it stand up and how much should I charge for it she wants it fondant as well.

You could stick lollipop sticks into the bottom of the star to get it to stick upright it the cake.... or you could use gum paste and make the stars a day in advance and stick them into the cake or do the same and attach sticks to the back!!!! As for what to charge totally depends on your skill set and the materials you use!!! The cake norm is to price by servings, so make sure to know how many servings she needs and plan your cake.

I was going to say the same thing... using a stick or dowel.. Also once i made a heart out of rice crispies and i covered it in the molding candy to keep it's shape
