Hi everyone. I only make cakes for fun for showers etc. for my church functions and my kid's birthdays. (Not very often.) I am making a baby shower cake for Sat Jan 29th. I am making half red velvet cake and half vanilla. I usually make whipped buttercream for red velvet cake (cooked flour and milk recipe). I was wanting to try a FBCT ahead of time (which I've never done either).
Will a FBCT sit on whipped vanilla icing? Or will it sink right through? Also, does whipped vanilla icing color very well? Do I need to use a special icing recipe for FBCT? Any tips for FBCT?
