Hi! I need a frosting recipe but it can't be too sweet. Any suggestion?

I use swiss merengue buttercream for all my cupcakes. You can make different flavor variations, but one batch only has 1 cup of sugar. It's not the sweet sugary greasy mess of American buttercream.
