I want to make some cupcakes that have a kick to them but I am not sure which type of spice works well with the chocolate cake. If I were to use something like a chili powder which one would I use? Anyone have any ideas?
Cayenne pepper powder. Chili powder would add more of a smoky taste not spicy/heat. Just go easy on the cayenne!

I use cayenne in my Mexican chocolate cake recipe and I use 2 tsp. You may want to start with 1 and see how much kick you want.
