Help- Freestanding Gumpaste Pieces!

I made flames for around my cake, like in the picture in the link below (from CC member cassiescakes).

Only when I was making them I didn't think about my cake only being one tier. I was thinking that they would stick in the frosting, but they will have to sit on the board. How can I get them to stay in place?

I need to bring this to a party in 2 hours. Any urgent replies appreciated!TIA!

did you use the white chocolate? Looking for pics! I hope all went well!
As a side note, I too would have used white chocolate!

Thanks for the quick replies! I went to the party a little early to make sure I had enough time to set it all up. I brought my white chocolate...but in the end didn't need it. The taller flames stood against the cake, and the little ones stood on their own, some leaning against the taller ones. Here's the link to how it turned out...
