Both my brother-in-laws have their birthdays this month so we're doing a combined party for them. One is turning 16 and is super excited about getting his license. He's also really into video games (Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto, etc.) and football and basketball. The other is turning 21 and does construction work (dry wall, painting, etc.) They both play the drums but I did a drum cake for them a couple years ago so I really don't want to do a repeat. Any one have any ideas? It doesn't need to be a huge cake... It's just for a small family get together.

If they are both into music, you could do a music cake - white with black notes and scales and such (even silhouettes of instruments). There are some nice ones in the gallery. I'd stay away from the painting/drywall theme. What does he do for fun, besides play the drums? Or: You could incorporate a car (for the 16 yr old getting his license) with whatever the 21 year old likes to do..
