What is your favorite wedding cake flavor? I am getting married and I just can't decide. I think I want to keep it light and maybe have fruity fillings. Any ideas???
I just got married this past weekend and made my own wedding cake. I wanted something different (sick of "wedding cake flavor") so I did the top tiers in wedding cake flavor/almondish and the bottom tier was a light lemon cake with lemon cream cheese filling and a soft lemon buttercream. How many tiers are you having? I got married one month ago today and I made four flavors:
Christmas confetti with vanilla cream filling
Lemon with lemon buttercream filling
Pumpkin spice with cream cheese filling
Chocolate with cookies & cream filling
It's your cake, so get crazy. Consider the time of year you will be getting married and what flavors/fruits are in season then.
I don't knwo what "wedding cake flavor" is but my brides consistently ordered various flavors for their tiers. Unlike in our mother's day when white cake was the only acceptable wedding cake, pretty much anything goes now and i'm not sure there is a "normal" wedding cake flavor anymore.
