Display Cookies Question

Hi everyone! I'm getting ready to have a "constant display" at the Wedding Connection here in my town. They're basically a bridal show all the time, and people can come in and look at the displays and information on products for their weddings. Once a month they have an actual bridal show where I can hand out samples and be there for the brides to talk to.
I already have my cupcake tower ready with cupcake dummies. I'd like to do some cookies, too, but I'm not sure if I want to put real cookies out... I'm worried they'll go bad. Would making clay cookies work? I'm talking about the crayola model magic or maybe sculpey clay. Do you think that royal icing would work on top of these?
Has anyone done something like this? Any tips?

Thanks! Maria

I made some cookie displays for my classes (out of real cookies with fondant and royal icing) and they lasted two years before the royal icing "fell off" the cookie! icon_biggrin.gif You should be fine with real cookies.
