How Do You Get The Deep Purple Color

I have a cake to do this weekend and the bottom tier is purple. I know if you use a lot of gel color it will make the fondant soft. So do you airbrush?

try using gel/powdered color combo. it seems whatever color i mix that way always turns out so pretty and bold!! good luck!! thumbs_up.gif

Keep the cake out of sunlight and/or florescent light. Purple is bad about fading.
