How do you suggest wrapping a tennis show cake? In sections or all one piece? Bottom to top or top to bottom? [/quote]

The one to ask is JenniferMI -- she did a gorgeous pair of sneakers cake for her son. Check her pix! icon_biggrin.gif

Hi!

I placed the fondant over the top of the carved shoes and worked it down from there. I put a real shoe next to my cake I was carving to help get details correct. I think taking that little slice UNDER the toe out, so the toe sticks up off the table helps to create a real looking shoe.
