I have to do a 1969 chevrolet stingray car with split window in the back instead of the whole window itself. Can someone lead me into how to make this car best with the fondant and what would you do for the wheels? Thanks so much! She wants it all black.

if you have time, you may want to invent in mike mccleary's car dvd. Or you can probably find a video on youtube on have to make a car cake.

Cake Girls did a muscle car in one of their episodes:

you should be able to buy this one episode on iTunes for a few bucks. it'll give you some ideas.

I'll "second" the Mike McCarey Cakenology DVD. He walks you through making a car cake and tells you so you can make almost any car out of cake. It really transformed my car cakes. See my pictures for a DeLorean cake I did after watching it.

Start by looking to see if you can get scale drawings on http://the-blueprints.com/

Good Luck!

yes, mike's dvd is awesome. he did his wheels with modeling chocolate. the cake girls did theirs with fondant. the whole car was raised with styrofoam so the wheels just get inserted on and they're just resting on the cake board and sticking to the wheel wells. hope that made sense.
