I'm sure I can find the answer if I go through all the circuit threads but I don't have time.

Can I use satin ice fondant (no tylose or gum paste)? I'm only interested in cutting out letters.

I tried it a few days ago but I think I took it out of the freezer too soon because it pulled the fondant a little bit, but overall not bad.

Any quick tips would greatly be appreciated!

i only tried fondant once and it was very sticky and hard to work with after being in the fridge so i gave up. i did not try it with satin ice though and i know very little about fondant so it could have been my own fault icon_razz.gif

I'm pretty sure you will find you have to add tylose to your fondant. Straight fondant does not seem to work for most people, myself included, regardless of the brand. Kneading in tylose takes literally seconds. But, you might not have time for that either.

I used mine with satin ice the other day and it worked really well. I rolled out the fondant pretty thin on the mats brushed with a little crisco and let them sit out to dry for about an hour. after the letters were cut, I put the mats in the freezer for about 15 minutes before removing.
hope this helps!
