Hi Guys,

I want to paint a cake this weekend and I am not sure how to thin out my food coloring gel so I can paint with it. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

You can use an extract or vodka - something with alcohol. The alcohol evaporates quickly letting your "paint" dry. If you didn't use the alcohol it would just remain tacky.

Hope this helps!

I use Vodka, Ideally you want the highest alcohol content you can get some states still sell everclear thats really want you want. You only need a very small amount, and you mix it with the gels you want a consistency like Model Car Enamel.
