I am making a shrek cake and after looking at the trees in the movie, alot of them have a greenish tini and moss on them. I will be making his house and the trees from RKT, then covering in chocolate fondant. Any ideas as to what I can add afterwards to look like moss patches?

get some green royal icing and spread a thin layer on some parchment paper, let it dry an then crumble it all up. It will appear almost fuzzy just like moss.........then you can just brush the fondant trees with extract or egg whites and stick the "moss' on where you want it.

Royal icing tinted in several shades of green and then applied to the trees with a sponge also gives a mossy effect.
