I absolutely have to make my version of this cake:
http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-photo_1903403.html

I'm looking for the mold for the peacock feathers. I have already asked the artist but she got the molds years ago from a friend and doesn't know where they can be purchased. Can anyone help me out? I would love to include this cake in my portfolio. TIA!!

It's not the same one, but it might do the trick:

can be found looking for 'lacy leaf' here:

Sorry, I can't see what you're looking for -- it says there's a security breach! (401 authorization required)... icon_confused.gif

weird - I just tried it too and got the same message. It worked yesterday...
The photo is still in the new most saved photos on the home page. It's the yellow cake with white scrolls and a peacock in white on the side.

I got the same message - you had to put in a user name and password. I don't understand what the heck is going on with this website anymore. It seems that the bigger CC gets, membership-wise, the more problems we have.

I kept getting the security breach also msg ,
is there a security issue going on with this? Should we not be trying to enter our password?

my computer said it was an unsecure request, so I didn't put my info in... just went to my history & got here without putting anything in... very strange.

this is the warning on my computer:

LisaPeps - yes, that's the one! The security thing is bothersome...hopefully will be fixed soon.

Kiddiekakes - I didn't think to do a search using "feather" mold...I just tried with leaf mold. I'll do another one on Google and if I find something just a little more exact, I'll let you all know. I'm sure there are others who will be trying their hand at this cake!

Is it possible she used a leaf mold and then cut them to look like feathers??

I had to go through google just to get on cc today and I also couldn't get past the link because of the same message. I'm glad it's not just me and my computer.

That is exactly the right mold. I have had mine for years, Kerry Vincent calls it Acanthus leaf & it is in her book. Ive used mine quite often & I love the peacock idea.

I couldn't get onto CC so I finally tried going thru Google! Yikes - what's going on??!

Yes, those are the ones I thought were most like the original. Thanks for confirming it.

It seems like you already found it, but just thought I'd say that some of the molds on that cake are a brand called 'first impressions'. I recognize them because be sell them at the cake shop I work for. Not sure if the peacock feathers were a mold from them also, but I know a couple of them on that cake were. icon_smile.gif

I have that mold and I purchased for an elderly lady probably 6+ years ago. I got her name and phone number from one of Kerry Vincent's books because she used them on one of her cakes. I'm thinking the lady I bought them from has passed away.

This mold from First Impressions is on the cake.
