Hello,
I am making my first royal icing trasfer tomorrow. The cake is due Sunday. I am wondering how long I need to let it dry for before i stand it upright??
Thanks,
Hollie

At least 48 hours if it is a larger piece. Make puddles around the board so you can test for doneness before trying to remove it. Puddles are just blobs of the thinned icing. Also since you will have all the colors made up, I'd go ahead and do a second one so you have a back up in case it breaks.

Thanks. I wouldnt of thought 48 hours so I am glad I asked and the test puddles are a great idea too. I was planning on making two. I don't want my only one to break last min!!! The only problem is I was going to stand it upright on a skewer. If I cant turn it over and lay the skewer on and pipe my RI glue til saturday that wont be enough time to harden properly. It's due around 10am sunday. Should I use white chocolate to hold the skewer in place since it hardens faster?
