Cake Cracked And Was Raw In Centre

Wasn't my cake, but a friend of mine called me up for a scratch white cake. I gave her the recipe on here, Better Scratch White Cake, I think that's the name.

Anyway I saw her the following week, she told me the cake cracked and was uncooked in the middle. I didn't know what to tell her as I never had that problem. Does anyone know what would cause a cake to do that?

She baked it in a too hot oven, and possibly overbeat the batter as well. IMHO.

Yeas I agree..sounds like an oven temp problem. Also She may have over beat the cake. And depending on the cake recipe and size pan she may have needed to use a heating core or a rose nail..to make sure that the center got done. hope that helps! thumbs_up.gif
