how long will these last on a cake? the cake will be prepared early morning but the event will be late afternoon, will the strawberries look, taste bad by then? thanks for your help!

I put strawberries on mine the night before the event. I read if it's within 24 hours it will be ok. I didn't have any problems with mine.

do you cover the cake? should i keep the berries in the fridge overnight, and in the morning put them on the cake and then put the cake in a box. I use the plastic bends to carry my cakes?
