I don't know if I'm posting in the right place, I hope so. My question is to those of you who own or have used a cricut or xyron cutter which one you prefer? Also are there others on the market, what would you recommend and why.

It's on my wish list and I think my DH is going to get me one.

I just thought of another question, can you program your own design for the machine to cut or are you limited to the cartridges that the companies sell.

Thanks for any advise

I prefer the shilouette. If you have an edible image printer you can print and then cut the image. Linda McClure has a package on her website that includes a DVD, special blade, gumpaste recipe and step by step insturctions.
