My daughter wants a basketball on her bday cake. I am planning on making a two tier cake with a RK basketball on top. The problem is I don't know what colors to use on the rest of cake. She said black and orange because basketball's are those colors, but I was thinking the tiers should be something else. I am thinking of doing zebra stripes on one tier, maybe polka dots on the other (she loves zebra's) so would that all look okay together? And what colors would you use? She likes the color blue...

If you do too much black and orange (as that's what the basketball is) then I think it would be overkill... I think that black and white and blue, would look good for the other two tiers! So, do the black and blue zebra stripes, then the white with blue and black polkadots. You could also add a little orange to tie it all together - maybe little basketballs along the border or something?
