Nigella's Guiness Cake is probably the best tasting cake I've ever had. iI's extremely dense, which makes me think it would be a good cake to use for covering in fondant. My question is, can the cake be made in a square pan, as opposed to in the springform pan that Nigella uses? I suppose I could just try it, but I don't want to be wasteful if someone else has already tried it in a square pan and failed...

Anyone...?

i dont see why you couldn't... try to line the pan with parchment paper so it would be hard to remove from the pan
