Just wondering if you have a favorite cake recipe that stands up well to carving and fondant, but still tastes good and is still (at least somewhat)moist?
Ive used the Yellow cake from seriouscakes, here's the recipe:

I tried both recipes and both taste pretty good and stood up well to carving (carved them partially frozen). I had a problem with the yellow cake recipe sticking so if I were to use that one again I would probably use parchment circles in addition grease/flour.
