Could anyone give me some direction on how to make a yarn ball, yarn needles? I have an idea but would love to hear some ideas. Not sure about the needles though.
Also, was thinking of making a "basket" to hold the yarn. I wanted to use fondant. Could I just cross it over like a basket weave rather than using buttercream? Never done any of this before. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

They actually have a basket weave impression mat out for fondant.I think you will find criss crossing them will be too time consuming...The needles could be painted wooden skewers...the balls of yarn are made with fondant strips but I'm not sure how to set them on to make the yarn looked rolled.
