I have an electric oven. I know that I need to turn my oven down to 325, but do I need to do anything else to bake a 10x3 cake? Do the Bake Even strips really work & are they necessary? How much batter should be poured into the pan? I do small cakes all the time, but have never done a 3 inch pan. Thanks so much!

I use 3" pans exclusively. Yes the Bake Even Strips help. Also grease up 3 metal flower nails and turn them upside down and center evenly in the pan. Pour batter around the nails until 2/3 to 3/4 full (depending on the type of cake being bake, but that's another topic) Take your spatula and gently scoop the batter away from the center and towards the sides of the pan, encouraging it to be less deep in the center. Good luck!
