Help! I'm making my first gumpaste shoe. Its all done and drying, but now cracks are appearing at the edges near the heel. Is there anything I can do to salvage this shoe and smooth out the cracks? Or am I pretty much relegated to starting over from scratch?

Hi, i personally would start over. Put a little shortening on my hands, work it into the g/p. really good. knead and stretch it. and then start over. You will see a big difference. Keep g/p covered as you work. hth
