All of the pictures I've seen show a smooth top but mine crack. They start to crack when they are halfway baked so it can't be that they're over baked. What am I doing wrong?

Could b too hot - the outside bakes relatively firm quickly, while the inside Is still soft. As that cooks, it makes the outer shell crack. At least that's how it works with cakes and cupcakes!
