I wanted to cover my first board in fondant tomorrow to create a snowy backdrop. Should I use cardboard or a board covered in tin foil or cake foil? Will piping gel be enough to get the fondant to stick to cardboard?

I don't use anything and it sticks just fine! Just cardboard with the fondant on top. Just don't use a lot of cornstarch or powdered sugar to roll it out. If you do, a bit of piping gel will work too.
