I have a half a package and its pretty hard, is there any way I can soften it up to use or is it only good to make " glue"? Thanks for any ideas!

Break off any really completely dry spots, then microwave it for a few seconds - then knead in some shortning. This sometimes works, but it is really important to make sure you get any of the dry pieces out before kneading it.

Thanks Loucinda, so the spots that are pretty dry are no good anymore right? No bringing them back to life eh? icon_smile.gif Thanks!

I never have had any luck re-hydrating them! I learned by trial and error to just get as much of that part off and working with what is left. Otherwise, you end up with little tiny bits of hard gumpaste in the part that you were able to save.
