I am a beginner myself and haven't had the chance to work with lots of different dusting powders but here's what I've gathered about them.

Petal dust is plain colored dusts mostly used for adding color to flowers to give them more realistic looks.
Luster dust is the same as petal dust except it has a bit of shine and sparkle to it.
Disco dust is even more sparkly/shiny..
Pearl dust is a non colored sparkly/shiny dust that gives a nice to shimmer to anything you put it on.

I've only used one color of luster dust, as its expensive, and pearl dust so far. So please anyone correct me if I'm wrong!
