My five year old daughter's birthday party is today and I have the cake finished and frosted, but she wants me to put John Lennon on top (from the Imagine album.) This should be easy, as I would just paint it on.

My husband purchased the decorating gel- Is there anything I can mix this with to make it thin enough to paint with? Water, milk? Help!

Thanks so much, from a long time lurker, first time poster,
Ang

Welcome! I'v learned a lot here at CC.

Try adding Corn Syrup in tiny amounts till you get the consistency you want.

The best thing to mix with it is some kind of alcohol. It will thin it down and then evaporate.

You can try vodka, some clear extract (like vanilla) or some everclear.
