Basketball Cake Help

i have an order for a basketball cake, i love the photos on here but was wondering if there is any way to make the basketball without buying the domed pan. any ideas?

Some people use a glass bowl to bake round cakes. I've never tried it myself, but many other people do it all the time.

I did this basketball cake this week. I made the basketball out of can mold it in two bowls and then use melted chocolate to glue two halves together. hth

how did you cover the rkt basketball? if i covered it in fondant would it be lumpy?

I covered it(RKT) with fondant, and I wanted it a little bumpy, cause to me it looks more like a basketball......however, if you want it less bumpy you can cover it with ,a couple layers of melted chocolate.
