Maybe someone out there can help me with finding out what this particular cookie is called. Years ago I worked with a woman who baked a particular kind of cookie only around Christmas time. They were no bigger than maybe a nickel or quarter. She said one recipe made 4 ice cream pails full. They were not soft like a sugar cookie and had a bit of crunch to them. Light in color. To this day I still think about those little cookies. They were so addictive you could eat half a pail and not realize it. i know its a long shot but if anyone has heard of or knows what they may be I would love to know.
Thanks.

Firt thing that came to my mind was Almond Macaroons.... you can make them any size and 1 batch gives you tons if making them size of a nickel.

They were beige in color. Flat disks and not coated in anything. Just plain.

It kinda sounds like you are talking about Pfefferneuse (Peppernuts). They are traditionally made around Christmas time. Just a thought.

Pfefferneuse is rolled in powdered sugar.

There are many different types of preparation of peppernut cookies depending on the region the baker is from. Some are rolled in powdered sugar. I would hate to have the op count this out. Even if it is not what she is looking for it is still a great cookie. icon_biggrin.gif
