I need a good pound cake recipe to make a bowling ball cake. The person wants the cake fully rounded not just the half ball.
Here is the pound I make:
1 c unsalted butter, softened
3 c sugar
6 large eggs
3 c flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 c heavy cream
2 tsp vanilla extract (you can also use almond or lemon)
Cream butter & sugar, add eggs 1 at a time. Sift together dry ingredients. Add dry alternating with cream, mix well, add vanilla. Bake at 325 for approx 1hr - 1 1/2 hr (depending on pan size)
That's very similar to Elvis Presley's Favorite pound cake (my personal fav).
