I am making a 3 tier cake, 10", 8", 6" rounds. Baked 2 of each in my 2" pans. I made a batch of BC in my 5 qt. Kitchenaid. Excluding fillings, which will be made separately, will this be enough for all 3 cakes? Thanks!
How much buttercream does your batch make? Did it fill the entire mixer? Do you plan on doing borders out of buttercream or any piping? Do you need to make dam with the buttercream?
Yes, it filled the mixer up to about 1" from the rim. And I'm not doing much piping, but I would need to use it for the dams. I also have about 2 cups left over from my last batch.
The Wilton chart will show you about 12 cups needed...I doubt you will need that much if you are not doing any piping or borders....the Wilton chart amounts show what you need for icing, filling, and decorating.
It sounds to me like you have enough.
