im trying to make a chocolate strawberry cake and need a strawberry filling, i tried a recipe but thought it was TOO sweet, and i want to use fresh strawberries, any ideas that i could use, i want it to be thick enough that it wont soak through the cake....HELP PLEASE!!
i was considering something similar, but i was gonna add whole strawberries, i didnt think about the puree, thanks, i'll try it out!!
You could add the puree to get the whole filling to taste like strawberry and then add chunks of strawberries too, for texture. I like to strain the seeds from the puree as well, but that's my personal preference, as I don't like seeds. Oh, and you may want to add one drop of food coloring, too, because it may not be pink enough without it. HTH!
