But that's just it, the others AREN'T more expensive. I haven't tried toasting the rice krispies, but I don't think it would work in light of how small they are and how easily it would be to burn them. Seems like more trouble than it's worth when the specialty stuff is so readily available.

Where do you get it bob? Where I've seen it, you can get a little bag for the same price as a whole box of cereal crispies.

Every cake store in my area sells it under different names. I think you can get a similar product at countrykitchensa.com if I'm not mistaken.

I have seen them on CK, the wholesale side of CountryKitchenSweetArt, and they aren't too bad, like under $15 for 5 pounds, but then the shipping... and they don't tell you up front what your shipping is if you go with the 'best price' option, you don't know what it is until after it's delivered and already deducted from your card. 2 weeks ago I found out my 'best option' was $56 shipping because I ordered another cube of shortening, but the shortening never showed up, and UPS says they delivered it. So, I have to sit around and wait (after shelling out almost a hundred dollars between the shortening and the shipping) for them to decide what to do. I'm sorry, but I think I'd notice if one of the boxes I'd received weighed 50#, and I live in a small town, no one is going to steal a cube of shortening off my deck. Sorry, totally off subject. Didn't mean to turn this into a rant!! icon_redface.gif

Oh, and you have to remember, I live in Iowa where there ARE no cake stores. That's not a joke. It must be against some sort of law to sell cake making products in Iowa! icon_lol.gificon_cry.gif

Melvira, about those gingerbread marshmallows, you may want to pop one before using them in a recipe.....I don't know if it is me....but they taste like cheap perfume. Taste is still on the tongue. Blech...
