Crusting Buttercream

How long does crusting buttercream last unrefrigerated. My client would like to sell cupcakes with the crusting buttercream but would like to have them ready to eat, unrefrigerated for her customers. I wasn't sure how long ofa shelf like it has...I thought about 2-3 days. TIA

It should still be fresh. I use IndyDebi's crusting buttercream and it is fresh at room temp. for a week or two.

Even though the buttercream may have a shelf life of a couple of weeks, I find that cupcakes dry out more quickly than cakes, because they are not completly sealed by the buttercream. IMHO, I wouldn't serve a cupcake beyond 4-5 days, and I really think that is pushing it. Could you maybe make all the cuppies and buttercream, supply your customer with an amount that she thinks she will need, and freeze the remainder for you to replenish her supply as needed? Just an idea...
