How To For Cowgirl Hat

Should i use round or oval pans. this will be my first sculpted cake. Any tips i need to remember?

Use ovals. Easy pezzy cake. Cut gumpaste using hat as guide. I use hat for drying rim in shape. It will take days for rim to dry. Good luck. I made the mistake of leaving a hat cake out and husband thought it was his hat grabbed it by rim to move it and broke it!! I had another rim dryed and could redo. Saved, after I stopped screaming it was funny.

I know!
I never really had a desire to make one until I saw her's now on my list of cakes-to-make-in-the-future, LOL!
