What is the best method to attach ribbon to a fondant cake so there are no lumps and bumps?
I'm no expert but I would say bc piped(tip 3 probably) where you will place the ribbon then place ribbon on and smooth with fondant smoother.
I just make sure the ribbon is a snug fit, and use double sided tape on the end of the ribbon. The tape will only be touching the ribbons, not the cake.
what kind of ribbon is it?
the key is to have the fondant on the cake nice and smooth, as the ribbon will follow the shape of the cake. ribbon is usually only secured at the back of the cake without anything else round the cake.
if its wired ribbon, u will need to accept it looking rough, or pull out the wires.
