No molds available locally and no time to order online. If I use pulled sugar - first time - can I just form them by hand and will they hold their shape or will they settle down into a blob? I'm thinking of rolling them into balls then pressing/imprinting on them to get the shapes I want.

You'll just have to play with it...you'd have to work fast....I made a candle flame by hand with non-pulled isomalt, just by letting a small cool slightly and then handling quickly with latex gloves. You may be able to roll balls very fast and then press something into it but you'd only have a couple seconds per gem.

Another option is to go to the craft store and get some silicone stuff to make your own molds.

I've been dying to try pulled sugar. I'm wondering what the best links to get started and where to purchase the supplies.

Does anyone have some good tips/advise?
