Need a fabulously delicious chocolate frosting recipe for a very special chocolate cake. I need to be able to smooth and decorate with it. I usually use Hershey's Perfectly Chocolate Frosting with butter and vanilla. Does anyone have a recipe that is better? Has anyone used Madagascar vanilla in chocolate frosting? Thanks in advance!
Hi there here is a trick to make great chocolate icing...I had someone on here suggest it to me, and I have done it ever since. Make your regular buttercream icing (sorry not sharing mine) and then make a batch of genache. Let the genache cool, and the mix the two together. Doesn't give you a dark brown color, but you can always add some coloring to it. It is really yummy and you can cover the cake with it, pipe it, etc...Hope that helps. I looked for a while for a great recipe, to me most of them weren't "chocolatey" enough for me, but I really like this one.
