Hi Everyone. I am new to this forum and new to cake decorating.

What can I use as a cake mold to practice on besides the polystyrene ones you see for sale?

I box sounds good. Though I would have thought the icing would slip to much on a pot or cake tin

I've done it before, With fondant, no problems. It is different to real cake, so personally I think it's better for practicing decorating rather than how to apply icing to a cake, although the practice can only help too!
