I have a request for a cake with cool whip icing? I have never made or used cool whip icing. Any suggestions?

I think it would be very difficult to decorate with. My aunt makes cool whip covered cakes...but she just slaps a layer of it on without smoothing it.

I use it all the time for Black Forest Cakes. As far as using it for anything other than smoothing or a rough iced look, I don't think it would hold up.

Oh, and for the piping on the top and bottom of the cake, I used Buttercream.

i have made stabilized whipped cream before. I decorated a sheet cake with it. Made borders, etc. It did really well. hth That tastes like cool whip.
