I hobby bake for friends who live in Mysmalltown, and have photos on my Facebook page. A woman I went to high school with 15 years ago befriended me recently - I honestly can't even place who she is - I'm sure we weren't good friends. She lives in Capital city 3 hours' drive away. I got a message to this effect this morning: "Hi how much are your cakes? My daughter wants a Dora cake on the 8th December."

I felt like writing back, "Are you driving the 6 hour round trip?" but instead wrote, "I think we might be a bit far apart for cake! Hope party goes well, yadda yadda."

Even if I wanted to drive 6 hours to deliver a birthday cake, 'my daughter wants' doesn't make me feel super keen to make cake.
