On Saturday, I am making two dozen cupcakes for an uncles birthday party. How should I ice the top? I was thinking about swirling the icing on with tip 21 on some, frosting a few regular, sticking a few flowers on top?? I need tons of ideas, I don't care how many.
I am mainly a cookie baker...but when I do cupcakes- I swirl if I'm going to put a topper (usually a candy melt mold thing). I ice smooth if I'm going to decorate with piping or other detail work. You can always google search decorated cupcakes ..One of my favorite places to get ideas..after CC of course..
I'm lazy...I usually use a tip 1M swirl and then put a molded chocolate on top, or use the 1m swirl with sprinkles. If I'm covering them with fondant, I use an apple corer to hollow the center out, fill with buttercream, and then cover with the fondant.
