I have a cake im making. I'm doing it from a box but im wondering if it would be a disaster if I put a tiny bit of strawberry liquor in the cake mix and a bit in the chocolate butter cream? Any ideas? I'm making it in like 10 minutes... lol
Sure..Add away...a little liquid won't hurt any batter or icing....Should taste yummy!!
yay. Thanks sooo much.
For sure! I like to add my liquours after the cakes are baked in a simple syrup splash that is brushed or squireted on the baked cake. I use approximately equal parts of sugar, water and liquour. You boil the sugar & water until it's clear. Then carefully add the liquour--could wait until it cools off. Very easy. But I add the liquour to taste maxing out at one equal part.
If you end up adding a measurable amount of flavorings you may want to consider removing some of the water it calls for.
thanks memphis, I wanna definatly try that next time. And Mayo I put a little in the measuring cup then added the water to the set amount so it wasn't to watery. Thanks guys. I hope it comes out good. Can't wait till I carve my cake so I can sneak a taste. lol
Hope it turns out great and tasty!
