8 cups icing sugar = 2 lbs.

assuming trex and crisco measure about the same you are looking at about 9oz give or take. If you are just making frosting, it should matter to much if you are off a little.

when im converting the lazy way, i just type into google - 'how many g in 8 cups icing sugar?' and the answer usually comes up at the top.

i wouldnt buy a set of cups, in my opinion, its a crazy way to bake, it does not give as consistant results as using weights does.

you dont taste the difference really, i find you taste the flavouring, where as butter based bc, you taste butter and flavouring. vanilla works perfectly well for me! it has a different mouth feel, but if you like store icing, you will probably like it!
