Hi all,

I need your help. I am making strawberry shortcake cupcakes this week, and I need strawberry syrup for decoration. The cakes will have a buttercream frosting... and I wanted to drizzle a little syrup on top. Being that it is mainly for decoration I am open to suggestions on the best way to have a pretty effect (since the cake flavor is strong enough, "strawberry" flavoring in the syrup is not a big deal... I'm going for looks. ) My one worry is that the syrup will fade/look watery or melt the BC. I maybe crazy... but do you have any good recommendations for the best looking strawberry drizzle?

TIA

Have you thought about using Smucker's Strawberry Syrup? That would be the quickest and easiest I would think.

There's always the coffee syrups too.....but I would think they are a little thin.

Otherwise, it's fresh strawberries, mash 'em, cook 'em, strain 'em, add sugar and cook it down some more until it thickens.
