hey guys,
ive been asked to bake a whole range of cupcakes for a friends birthday brunch just before xmas and im trying to plan what im going to do well in advance so i can buy everything in that i need...
you see i need to impress cos theres gonna be alot of people there who could be potential new clients!! business opportunity in everything!!
so i was thinking about arranging the, on beautiful old vintage cake stands but everything ive seen on ebay http://shop.ebay.com/?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=vintage+cake+stand&_sacat=See-All-Categories and twenga http://www.twenga.com/price-vintage-cake-stand.html looks a little aged or weddingy or just not quite the look i was going for, i have this image in my head...
http://vintagepretties.typepad.com/vintage_pretties/images/2007/04/27/tea_party.jpg btu i just cant seem to achieve it...
can anyone offer any help? had anyone done anything similar? i just need to create a display on a table in the corner but the cakes then obviously need to be transportable around the table thats why i was thinking about the stands... any advice would be great, ive never had to creat such an in depth display before!! thanks in advance guys x

That first 3 tiered stand on Twenga looks exactly like the one you say you have "pictured" in your mind to me!

When I looked at that last pic, a stack of whitewashed flower pots came to my mind. Lots of pink, white, satin ribbon, lace, whitewashed flower pots, and cupcakes iced like roses (maybe even with delicate little butterflies perched on the edges)... I would think you could make a cupcake stand using graduated sizes of flower pots as separators, but it seems a little more rustic than what you're looking for...?

Or maybe a few bouquets of flower-iced cupcakes in whitewashed terra cotta pots? Have you seen pics of some of them here on CC? That would be quite a bit more transportable.

yeh i suppose youre right that it looks similar, i dont know theres just something that doesnt seem right to me...
and i do like the ideas of the cupcake bouquets, i might have a little look into them but again youre right its a little bit more rustic and less 'clean' than i was imagining... they look beautiful though dont they!! haha maybe ill have to change the whole idea!! or save it for my birthday!!
