I know in California they are not avail for sale, but you can have them shipped to you from other states, or if you are going out of state pick them up yourself.

Why aren't they allowed where you are? What's wrong with them?

Silver dragees have a trace amount of metal in them. Some lawyer in California got them banned here.

goodness!! They are common as muck over here, I had no idea. I think a lot of people wouldn't eat them anyway, I would pick them off.

The gold ones are banned in NJ as well, but I've had them shipped no problems

There's a cake shop in Norco California that sells them. I buy them all the time. They have a minut amount of metal in them but you'd have to eat like a pound for them to affect you! The name of the shop is Pila's Pantry and they have another store in Temecula, Ca.

I'll break my teeth on one of them before I would get sick from any metal poisoning.

They're ok in Ohio. At least my local cake shop says they are. icon_biggrin.gif

I almost bought some silver ones but wasn't sure about them, so I err'd on the side of caution and didn't get them. In addition to the small metal content, I was concerned about someone breaking a tooth or a smaller child getting their hands on them.

In Canada they are very common and sold in most bulk stores (ie Bulk Barn). i personally do not fancy the taste or hardness for myself, but they sure come in handy! and they are food grade edible products. good luck finding them. icon_lol.gif
